Jen helped me to sell my condo in South Arlington and to buy my House which is between Del Ray and the Beverly Hills neighborhoods. She took us around for almost a year when we were looking for a home. Several times there were places I wanted to buy and she recommended against and my partner wanted to buy and she recommended against. We FINALLY found the perfect home and it was/is a real gem. Jen got us in to see the house before it went on the market and we bought it before the open house - it is marvelous. She knows the market and she knows what needs to be done to a home to make it sell. Yes, that can take a little up front $$, but it is worth it. I recommend her to all my friends and I will use her again when the time comes. If you want someone to sugarcoat what your home is worth and make empty promises - Jen Walker is not for you. If you want someone who will be honest and will use their years of experience to your advantage - hire Jen Walker!

We leveraged Jen Walker's real estate skills to sell and buy a home in Del Ray. It was the best real estate decision we could have made. Jen's knowledge of the area and her understanding of the market was extremely helpful. She routinely provided sound advice, helped us prepare our house for sale, and negotiated the best possible sale price.At the same time, Jen helped us find a new house in the Del Ray neighborhood. We had very specific wants for a new house and I felt like Jen listened to our needs and then found properties that fit the bill. She never wasted our time showing us houses that did not check the boxes on our list and found us a great home. Finally, I would add that we never felt like we were a random client. Jen took time to understand what we our priorities were, helped us understand our options, and was available to us whenever we needed her.Jen went the extra mile and I have a lot of respect for the job she did. I would recommend her to buy/sell your house.

Jen is the best at what she does. No one knows Del Ray better--and she is a wonderful supporter to our community. From our first outreach she was supportive and attentive and extremely knowledgeable. She took time to get to know our family and helped educate us about the market. She has a direct, no nonsense approach and was good about reminding of us our goals and wishlist in this difficult market. When Jen helped us find the house we ultimately bought she went above and beyond by personally helping us with a tree removal situation. We were deeply grateful for her generosity, expertise, and for just being a wonderful person to work with and know as a friend.

We've bought and sold houses with Jen Walker and she's great to work with. She knows the local market extremely well and has good relationships across the community. She's very straightforward - sharing her expertise and past experiences in order to inform your decisions as buyers and sellers. This process can be extremely stressful, but Jen gives you the information you need and always emphasizes that it's your decision and she'll support whatever you want to do. She gets to know her clients well so that she can help counsel you along the way. When we sold our house we were lucky enough to have numerous offers to choose from. She went through each one and discussed the pros and cons from the sellers perspective, and we felt confident we made the right choice. Jen is one of the most generous people I know. Some of her generosity is available for the public to see -- but much is hidden from view. She is passionate about her community and it shows.

Repeat customer!Jen Walker crushed it for us in 2009 when we sold our little Del Ray duplex. We interviewed other realtors who wanted to sell the place for $460,000, which was *less than we paid* for it - but, it was during a really tough time for real estate, so we considered it. Then we met Jen! She sold our home for $520,000, making us a profit! She definitely made us work for it, but it was so worth it! So, of course, when we moved back to Del Ray six years later (2015), we knew just who to call. We were moving from far away, this time with kids and lots of complications. Jen found us a couple in a similar predicament who needed to sell right as we needed to buy and made it happen. Of course, there were bumps and loops and hoops to jump through in making a compliated deal work for both families. Jen handled it all, taking on a lot more of it than any businessperson probably should. She made this happen for us - and for her seller.Jen Walker's act so of generosity are pretty legendary, too. You can't walk down Mt Vernon Ave without running into someone she helped start their dream small business or someone whose kids she took out to breakfast just for fun - or even someone whose fridge she had stuffed full with their favorite beer! Would I hire her again? Yes! For the THIRD time!

Jen helped us both sell our house in the Fairfax county part of Alexandria and buy into Del Ray. She is the ultimate professional. She understands the market inside and out, will accurately price your house and stage it so that everyone wants to buy it. If you want an agent that is going to tell you what you want to hear ie. that your house is in better shape than it is or is worth more-she is not for you. That's what a experienced, professional real estate agent does-brings the expertise and knowledge of the current market conditions and neighborhood. Totally professional, expert staff, best agent in town!!

I hired Jen Walker to sell my house, so I can say unequivocally: DO NOT HIRE HER!I know from first-hand experience the damage Jen Walker can do to her clients. I've seen others describe her 'uncanny' ability to estimate prices and get a house sold quickly. It's true that her abilities are uncanny, but this is only because she's gaming the system to her clients' detriment. If you're considering listing a house with her, be wary. She puts an undue premium on getting a house sold quickly rather than for the actual market price. She will go to extraordinary lengths to hide her true intentions, and she will be rude and condescending to clients who question her advice. Jen Walker's strategy is to lowball the asking price to draw a buyer in as fast as possible. In some cases this draws in buyers even before a home has technically been listed for sale, thus robbing the seller of the opportunity to see what the open market would actually bear. This tactic makes perfect sense from Jen Walker's perspective, but it can be very damaging to her client. Consider this: Her take of the commission is 3% of the total sale, which would mean a $21,000 commission for a $700,000 sale. Yet, she would receive only $1500 more for a $750,000 sale. She'll gladly try to convince you her price is right so she can quickly take the slightly smaller commission and move on to the next client. Meanwhile, a seller who agrees to her pressure tactics potentially loses tens of thousands of dollars in the sale simply because Jen Walker wanted to close the deal quickly. While the example above may be distasteful, some would argue it's not unethical. The client is, after all, agreeing to the asking price Jen Walker proposes, even if it's only under extreme pressure from her. Unfortunately, however, this is not where Jen Walker's antics end. Some of the other strategies she used with me bordered on criminality -- so much so that they can't be discussed in an open forum.Yes, Jen Walker comes across as quite likable, and she banks on people hiring her for her expertise of the Del Ray neighborhood. She pumps a lot of resources into marketing herself in Del Ray and otherwise supporting civic activities there. But I would advise you not to fall for this trope. Her 'support' for the community is little more than a self-serving ploy to generate exposure and good will while she bilks her clients.The bottom line: Sellers hire Jen Walker with the belief she will be representing their interests in good faith. The reality, however, is that Jen Walker represents ONLY Jen Walker's interests. In all honesty, I wish I could give negative stars.
